How Graduation Works
When you register your student for Williamsburg courses using funding from one of our partner organizations, that organization is your student's "school of record." That means your student is subject to their graduation requirements (not Williamsburg's). Please check with your partner organization's academic counselor to understand their graduation requirements and make sure your student is on track to graduate.
Meeting Williamsburg's Graduation Requirements
If your student meets the graduation requirements for both their school of record and Williamsburg, in addition to the diploma they will receive from their school of record, they will also receive a Certificate of Merit from Williamsburg and can fully participate in our online graduation ceremony with their peers from other Williamsburg schools. Our standard graduation requirements are listed below:
-
Leadership - 2.0 Credits
Complete the following:
- Personal Leadership A/B
- Social Leadership A/B
- Professional Leadership
- Financial Leadership
Note: Personal Leadership A and B are required courses, but Personal Leadership A satisfies the required 0.5 Computer Tech credit and Personal Leadership B satisfies the required 0.5 Fitness for Life credit. Thus 2.0 credits of Leadership are required instead of 3.0.
