FAQs
-
What are the benefits of registering my student full-time?
Results show that full-time students who enroll in the Williamsburg program (taking four or more courses) achieve higher grades, develop vital time management skills, and make deeper social connections with their peers and mentors. They also outperform their peers on ACT/SAT exams and are better equipped for life as adults after graduation.
-
Do courses cost less if I choose the full-time package?
Yes. Our full-time package includes more than a 10% discount off our normal fees for individual courses.
-
What is the Empowerment Scholarship Account program?
The Education Scholarship Account (ESA) program provides Arizona families with financial assistance for educational expenses. It is administered by the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) and funded by state tax dollars to give parents options for their children's education. ESA funds are not considered taxable income for parents of qualified students.
The ESA program allows parents to utilize state funding to purchase educational services from qualified and approved schools, education providers, and/or vendors (like Williamsburg Academy Private School). Eligible students have access to the state aid that would have gone to the student’s school district or charter school if the student were enrolled in the public school system. This calculation does not include federal or local funding. ESA contracts are signed annually, and funds are disbursed quarterly.
The Arizona ESA program provides a unique opportunity for families to tailor their children’s education. With quarterly funding, year-round application timelines, and comprehensive support, the ESA program continues to expand educational freedom for Arizona families.
-
When do I need to apply for my state’s funding program?
Families are encouraged to apply early to receive funding for the desired quarter and/or school year.
Online applications are accepted year-round and can be submitted through the Arizona Department of Education (ADE). In late spring, applications transition from the current school year to the upcoming school year.
Processing Time: Application approval takes up to 30 days after submission.

-
How much funding could my child qualify for?
The ESA funding amount is 90% of the per-pupil base funding that would have been allocated to the student’s public school or charter school.
Average Funding Amount: $7,000 on average per student
Additional Funding: Available for students with special needs, military families, and foster children.
-
How are funds distributed?
All funds are distributed quarterly and managed via ClassWallet, which allows families to pay for approved educational expenses directly from their ESA accounts.
-
Are state testing and assessments required?
At Williamsburg, all students, including those using ESA funds, take the STAR assessment. Though not required, we encourage ESA students to participate. These assessments help us provide the best academic support tailored to their needs.
If your state requires norm-referenced testing, the STAR assessment will satisfy that requirement. -
When will I be billed, and how does it work?
When enrolling for the upcoming school year, you won’t be billed until July 15! You’ll receive four quarterly bills, carefully timed to align with your state’s funding dates—so you’ll never have to pay out of pocket!
For the All-Inclusive Package: On or after July 15, you’ll receive your first quarterly invoice of $1500 for your student’s tuition.
For Individual Courses: On or after July 15, you’ll receive your first invoice for your student’s tuition. The total will vary based on the number and types of courses you select. To estimate your invoice, simply divide your child’s tuition total by four.
Once your invoice is available, you’ll upload it to ClassWallet and manually initiate payment from there. Here’s a look at the billing cycle:
- July 15th (Invoice Date) → August 14th (Due Date)
- October 15th (Invoice Date) → November 14th (Due Date)
- January 15th (Invoice Date) → February 15th (Due Date)
- April 15th (Invoice Date) → May 15th (Due Date)
